    All three of the large tubes I bought have that old off smell as described. Lame. But I did use the stuff to clean my shoes before I shined them up yesterday. Great stuff for leather!!

    Since Bigelow is re-branded Proraso, and the reformulated Proraso has a new scent ( that is generally not quite as well liked as the old), that is probably it. The new cream actually performs slightly better (IMO) once you get used to it, and is paraben free, so it has its merits. I rarely use it, however, because I just love the red too much!
