Glad your order went through alright, I was worried from what jmercer said, I'll be ordering soon.

Took a few days from the store to let me know they got the PayPal payment, then a week later it was shipped...looking forward to it as well, as Fendrihan has the Plisson Soap, which is supposed to be the same, but I went with Obie's link.

I got conformation this morning. YAY! Joris is on the way.

I'm not sure what is with their website's purchasing section. I had registered a couple days ago but that didn't make any difference. Tried contacting customer service on their contact page and they emailed me back and took my order through email.

Fendrihan website is still showing *Plisson "Sold Out".

Well it certainly is a lovely soap, top shelf to be sure, going to use it again for my shave today.

A mild, subtle scent that lathers wonderfully, and a fragrance that is refreshing like a breath of air on a crisp summer morning.

After 50 some days of comedies of error my Joris arrived. Whoop! whoop!!

Phrank nailed it. It bloomed my biggest HMW brush in less than a minute with a dense slippery lather. Sometimes slippery lathers take lots of rinsing to get off. The Joris rinsed right off. I thought the scent was reminiscent of Saponificio Varesino 70th Anniversary.

Interesting note, reading from the beginning of the thread - Plisson vs Joris shaving soap being one and the same.

I have both, and thinking that I shaved with the Joris about a week ago, had another shave today with it earlier and was surprised - thought another great soap had crashed and burned after the third or fourth try. Turns out I used the Plisson Shave Soap, not the Joris.

I then compared the two, and the scent was different, with the Joris being very fragrant, much fuller and potent, building a full easy lather, while the Plisson, had a milder, almost Dove soap scent, and wasn't as robust.

The Joris I received came in the green cardboard circular tub, and the Plisson refill was in the blue square Savon a Barbe package (also cheaper) - anyhow, they sure seem like much different soaps as far as I'm concerned.

Phrank, my understanding is that the Joris is made for them in England and the Plisson soap made in France, I've never used the Plisson soap so I can't speak for it, heard this before about the two being different in performance. I don't know this for a fact but that's supposed to be the scoop on it.
