Thanked: 132I admit, that the water i use to boil and shave with, comes out of a Brita water filter pitcher...
I live in a 1960's apartment, ex-coal mining town, where the water comes out of the tap nice and rusty brown. I wont drink it or shave with it, until its filtered...'blinks with third eye.' JK!
The waters not that bad, but it is very hard and packed with minerals...the simple, inexpensive filtering helps alot.

Olivia,
I've never ordered from overseas before. Right now the site is behaving badly. I was wondering what the shipping charge is to the U.S. and if there's a long wait at customs.
I'm pointing the wife to a couple of your soaps to buy for me next month.
Thanks!

Thanked: 402Well actually it doesn't, on its own.
CableDawg customs was never an issue. It takes about ten days to ship them, though.
Just go through the process,
but maybe read here before: * How do I order Olivia's Handmade Natural Soaps *
I'm sorry the site is in less than perfect condition.
There is a new one coming soon and then everything should be taken care of properly.

With regards to Olivia's soaps, I have one I obtained from another member on another site. I have hard water at my location which makes for an interesting challenge on several soaps, i.e. MWF, Olivia's. What I have found to work well, and it is discussed in the Wiki I believe, is a shot of Kiss My Face unscented cream (superlather). This allows the scent of Olivia's, which is quite good, to remain while the KMF assists in building a very nice lather. Five or so drops of glycerine adds to it as well (uberlather). The soap I have is easy on the skin as well, which is an added bonus.

Thanked: 402Joeman, how funny!
Since when do you have it?
I have revamped the recipe a lot.
Would be interesting to know how old yours is.
The scents are US manufactured btw.

Ambra I believe Ma'am. I got in Feb of this year from someone on B&B in a trade. Love the smell, the water here is tough. Until I figured it out I went through two pucks of MWF

Thanked: 402Oh, LOL, well MWF is a toughie as well!
Basically all the "clean" recipes are.
What about filtering your water like Mac does it?

We actually looked into that at one point. Not sure we will be here long enough for that to be an issue. Honestly, a shot of KMF works wonders and allows the fragrance to remain while just giving it a boost, similar to a little higher octane in the old gas tank.

Great Chater folks, Keep it UP!!
Thank you all, and Olivia, for all the great info! I will look up "WM-soaps" on your site and order some ASAP. I will get a water filter before useing so as not to waste any soap or time trying to build lather with my water as it comes out of the bloody tap. Here's hoping the economy isn't hitting you quite as hard as it is here in the US, Have a great G/Day' people!!
tinkersd Of SRP!
