I find it's good practice to leave your unused lather for your next shave. With a wet brush you can reconstitute, (bring back), a full bowl of lather. You can repeat this process until the lather is all used up, thereby getting the most out of your product!

My question for today is how many of you rinse out all of the lather from the mug when you are finished shaving with the cake of soap. As for myself I rinse it all out when I am done. I don't like the thought of the goop in the bottom. Mack
    I do the same.

Concerning the guy that went ten years with a single puck of shaving soap....
WOW!! Thats got to be a new record!!
Personally, I really like using 100+ year old razors but prefer my soap to be fairly fresh.

Yeah, I thought of Utopian when I read this thread too. But IIRC it was 5 years he got from a puck of Tabac not 10, though I could be wrong.

Oh, and I rinse the lather from my bowl. I have way too many soaps and creams, no need for extreme conservation.

Plus, life is short and there are far too many creams and soaps to experience to justify being that frugal.

I swirl the damp brush on the puck of soap until its good and loaded .....and then put the mug back on the shelf. Do you guys rinse off and dry your DOVE bar bath soap too ???? Do you drink your beer out of a bottle or pour it in a glass ???

At one time I figured I wouldn't buy any more soaps and creams until I used one or two up. Let's just say that "rule" didn't last long lol

BTW, I still haven't used any up....

I used to keep a puck at the bottom of my bowl. When I did that, I left all the lather in there and let it just dry. Now, I lather in a bowl separate from my soap holder and rinse the bowl after every use.
