I love her soaps as well. Took a shower and shaved with Cavendish Black today and I can still (mildly) smell it on my skin. Shaving soap is a huge step up over the Williams I was using before for shaving and the bath soap is great too. I think I'm going to have to try one of her shaving creams next.

My wife is loving her bath soap as well and wants to get some of her own shave soap/cremes (she's getting into shaving with a DE).

My experience is just the opposite of your's. Now granted I was using the Poraso cream but I found that Colleens soap didn't dry out as fast as the Poraso cream. I also found the blade of my razor glided accross my face easier with the soap. Now with her talent im sure her creams are much better than the Poraso. I may try them later on. Right now I am going to enjoy these soaps.

It's true....I'm not even supposed to be sitting here typing away, as I have banned myself from posting on the forum until my new price list is finished. (And for those of you who are wondering why its taking me so long its cuz I'm weird...lol. I have to write, read....rewrite, read...rewrite...lol. It just takes forever)

Anyway...coffee this a.m. after the fight outside in the pouring rain with the possum from hell, different story....and decided I deserved to sit down and enjoy my coffee and see what folks were up to before I finish up my list. (should be finished this a.m.) and I noticed someone was getting married

Ha...Just wanted to say Thank You Donald for all of your wonderful compliments! Outstanding personal service and a great shave is my Goal !!

    Now....about that possum

I ended up getting one of each that Bobbo will have available in a few days.

1 Bay rum soap (because I liked the bay rum soap sample that I got from Colleen 9 months ago.

1 Orange Patchouli shave cream because I LOVED that scent when I sampled it back then. Offcourse that was when she was still trying out the thickness of the cream...so it might be better now.

    Good Morning over there!

I just checked Customs for Outram's shipment. It left the US yesterday and should arrive in the UK sometime this week...I'm guessing at the end of the week.

LX....I think you will be in for a pleasant surprise as both the soap and the cream are different from what you tried several months ago. (scent factor is still the same) The base of the shaving soap is a true soap....that has added glycerin, still all the moisturizing qualities of glycerin but will last longer because its soap. More bang for your buck so to speak.

Yes....you may melt it in the microwave if needed. Just do so SLOWLY... Its easier if you cut it up like a chopped onion and then melt for 10 to 15 seconds at a time. Shoot...you could even melt just the amount you wanted and put the rest over into a ziplock baggie (squeeze out the air) and then as you use your soap up, just take out what you need. I think I'll include this information in the price list I'm working on.

The shaving cream has continually gone thru a refining process and will "continue" to go thru a refining process for another few months. Still have an ace up my sleeve! That said....the cream is a Traditional Shave cream in every sense of the word as it has no synthetic surfactants or chelators added. You must "build" the lather, it will not instantly POP the way commercial creams do.

Two things are important....if you use a container, it should be a bowl that is low and wide "not" a mug or a deep bowl and second use small amounts of water. If you add a Tablespoon of water all at once you will end up with a bowl full of bubbles.....the key is to build the lather.

Using about 1 teaspoon of cream or as another gent said " about the size of a dime". After your brush has had a good soak, give it 2 or 3 firm shakes...and then add about a teaspoon of hot water to the bowl. Mix the cream really well into the brush for at least 10 to 15 seconds.....(the cream will seem to disappear) add another teaspoon of hot water and then mix, mix, mix....just like your making egg whites! really give er a good go! for at least 30 to 45 seconds and Viola' a bowl full of rich, creamy, velvet lather.

**While directions are listed on the bottom of the larger tubs, its pretty vague due to restrictions on how much a person can write in such a small space ( not like here...lol... ) In this shipment Outram's will have available a small slip of instructions giving a little more detail in the use of this Traditional Shaving Cream.

Now I know other Gents make the lather on their face and I think it takes 2 or 3 tries with the cream to get the right amount of water figured out for each person's technique, but over all I am very pleased with how the cream has come along.

I'll be VERY interested to know if you feel my products have improved over the course of time.

    XXWarm Regards, Colleen

The cream sound complicated.....but well see when it gets here. As far as the shave soap you've made me quite curious.
In the future (hopefully the NEAR future when I won't be such a poor student) I'll be tying more of your stuff I think.

No...the cream isn't complicated, just different. I probably used up to many "woman words"....try this.

Put a little dab of cream in a bowl, add a little water....take your damp badger and mix....add a little more water and whip the hell out of it...lol..

    Is that better ? chuckle...

What are you studing in school..? if I may ask...

I'll be getting my bachelor's degree in Facility Management pretty soon.

Facility Management is pretty much "housekeeping" gone professional. Catering, cleaning, security, car park management, contract management, archives etc etc

oh...and YES that is a lot better. Maybe i just don't speak "girl" enough. I'll have my wife look at your previous description to see if she thinks it's clear lol
