A Marriage Proposal!
Ok, I know she is married but I wanted most of you to read this and I am pretty sure that title will get your attention.
When I started this wet shaving journey I started using the Proaso products for a few reasons but one of them was that I could get them locally. I am one of those impulse guys so when I want something I like to go out and get what ever it is I want. Once I got here on SRP and started reading through the mountains of information I discoverd that Colleen's soaps were very popular so last week I order three (3) cakes and they arrived yesterday.
So this morning I chose the Bay Rum with Sweet Orange. OH MY GOD!! What a difference! Not only is this product in a whole different class as far as fragrance goes but I just couldn't believe how much easier the blade of the razor glided accross my face. I have to tell you guys this was such an amazing difference I am ready to head down to Beckley and thank this lady personally, well not really but I am so impressed I just had to post this accolade.
Being an a small business owner my self I know how hard it is to grow a venture such as her's but I know that with products as good as these the battle is much, much easier.
Colleen, You have a client for life! Amazing Job. It takes alot to get me this jazzed but you certainly have with your outstanding soap's and service.
Congrat's

Donald, I'm glad you like Colleen's stuff. I'm hooked just like you with 5 cakes in my regular rotation and a couple of spares lol. Just don't do what you're doing now when you try one of Matt's brushes

I have been reading about Matt's brushes. I may in the future buy one but for now I am happy with the Silver Tip Dovo that I bought from Classicshaving.com
His work does look amazing though.

I am still waiting for my custom to be ready. As soon as Matt tells me he's done, I'm driving off to Guelph to pick it up

So what I want to know: Do you guys like the soaps or the creams better?

I'm a cream man so I definitely prefer them, but that said, Colleens soaps are the best I've tried and there are some scents that one can't get in the creams. It's clear that Colleen has a special talent for getting an aroma just right as well so I'm actually thinking of getting a cake or two of her soaps to keep around too.

I'm a soap person. Once it's in a dish, it's just easier to work with.

Years ago I used a DE and used both creams and soaps and to be honest I only used the cheap stuff in both of them. Probabaly because my skin has changed as I got older I evidently prefer the soaps. I mentioned earlier I had been using the Proaso Cream but when I tried Colleens soap this morning I really could not believe the differnce. Even now several hours after my shave my face feels better than it did with the Proaso after several hours, more refreshed if you will. I am jazzed about these products. Its a night and day difference for me.

Thanked: 1I prefer Colleen's creams but use both. If I have the time to treat myself at night with a shave or when I take a shower in the morning I use the cream because I warm it up in my scuttle. If I'm not able to, then I use the soap.
My main reason for the cream preference is that it doesn't seem to dry as quickly on my face as does the soap and I really enjoy how my face feels afterwards. I think she uses some different nurturing ingredients in the cream that isn't in the soap (I'm not sure, it's just what I think based on how my face feels after using each)
Bottom line, soap or cream I'm a TGQ junkie
By the way, her bath soaps are incredible too!

I second that bath soap verdict! She sent one along with my order that was the Desert Ironwood. What a terrific smell. I may have to order some of those as well.
My experience is just the opposite of your's. Now granted I was using the Poraso cream but I found that Colleens soap didn't dry out as fast as the Poraso cream. I also found the blade of my razor glided accross my face easier with the soap. Now with her talent im sure her creams are much better than the Poraso. I may try them later on. Right now I am going to enjoy these soaps.
