I like Tabac, MWF and DR Harris. Always perfect lather.

I try to switch around, but since using Czech & Speake (No. 88 or Oxford) my other soaps and creams aren't getting much love.

This is very subjective, I think Shave creams produce better lather IMHO. Xpec, Domenico Caraceni 1913 (no longer in production), Castle Forbes, Truefitt and Hill, TOBS, and GFT are all good.
Soaps, C&S 88, DR Harris, Pre de Provence, and of course Martin De Candre, which is probably the best soap out now. Most of the newer str8 users gravitate towards, Williams, VDH, MWF, and Tabac. They're all ok. I rarely use MWF or Tabac any more. SRD's soaps are good as well as Mama Bears. Jabonman from Spain is good too. You'll find your brush, water, technique and even your vessel play a role.We have assumed control !

For consistency, Tabac performs well for me. MWF seems to also be consistent, but I've not had this soap for long, so there's still a feeling of uncertainty.

Thanked: 369In my opinion (well, obviously that's subjective) William's is my favorite and provides the best lather.

Big time + 1 IME. Since I started loading the brush with just the tips of the brush, rather than pushing on it a bit, I am getting better lather than before. Next time I'm in the store I'm going to pick up a puck of Williams.
I used it in the '70s, along with Old Spice, but when I ran out back then I was too lazy/cheap to buy more and grabbed up the Dove face soap and lathered with that for 30 years ....
Those days are long gone and I use 'good' stuff now but I'm not going to pay the freight for the 40 and 50 dollar pucks. Still too cheap ...... let's call it frugal........
