Tried Mitchell's Wool Fat today
Just started straight razor shaving a few months back and started with the cheap Van Hagen soap that Walmart sells and wanted to try something better so I ordered some Mitchell's Wool Fat and I like it!
Smoother shave and my face is soft as a baby's butt when I am done. I like it!
I also bought some C.O. Bigelow's shaving cream in the tube at a Bath and Body Works in Jacksonville, NC on our trip and like it as well.
It's made by Proraso for them and is probably the best shaving cream I can get in normal stores here in my area.My son is a Drill Instructor in the United States Marine Corps at Parris Island, SC

Yup, MWF is a good one! Although for some people (depending, I suppose on brush/water, etc) it can be tricky to get a good lather, once you have it dialed in, it is absolutely fantastic stuff. It's my current favourite soap.
For anyone who runs into trouble getting it to lather, Mantic has a good video that may help.
It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

Love MWF, its the best soap I've tried so far, and love C.O. Bigelow as well. Another very slick shaving cream I love is is Cremo Cream. If you get around to trying some Uber-lather Bigelow or Cremo are excellent to use, nice thick, creamy rich lather that is hard to beat.

What I thought was interesting about the MWF though was that if you let it dry a little and shave then little particles float off into the air. Never noticed that with anything else.

MWF is a nice soap and in my regular rotation. If you have hard water it can be a little tricky to lather, but the end lather is excellent. As an " ultra-hard well water" shaver, I suggest the usual, use a lot more product and expect to spend a little longer lathering it up.

I'll get that with anything, if it dries out. Used to get it a lot earlier on, now it's pretty rare.
Good vid by Mantic. I agree with his general findings. It's tougher to get MWF loaded onto the brush because it's a relatively hard soap, and it seems to like a slow and steady addition of water. As a result, I usually make way more lather than I use. So I keep my puck in a mug, and just squeeze the extra lather back on top when I'm done. No that I'm in danger of running through my puck any time soon... it's like a never-ending lather machine.

mwf is a great soap for sure. i tried their bath soap too and it was equally as nice. i liked the rounded shape of the bath soap too...
i do better when i load the mwf with a dab of shaving cream on it for a super lather.
