Thanked: 0Taylor of old bond street coconut shave cream
Bought some Taylor of old bond street coconut shave cream this week and used it for the first time last night... great shave cream, lathers up great. I just cant get my nose around the smell to me it seems to smell more like Play Doh than coconut. Anyone else tried it ?

Thanks, for that. I was going to order some but looking for one that smells like straight coconut.

Thanked: 1It smells like tanning oil/lotion to me. I guess it makes sense but I found it to be weird shaving and smelling it. I've only tried it and Mike's Natural and would pick the Mike's over it.

If you want Coconut, Try Mama Bears. She has or had "Toasted Coconut" and nails the scent as usual. Also, You may try Krissy at Prairie Creations.
She has lot's of tallow based scents, and even if you don't see what you looking for, chances are she'll make it for you...
P.S. I like TOBS Avacado. It's one of those love it or hate type scents though. The Sandalwood is good as is the Rose.
Got some "Mikes" I wasn't that impressed at all considering all the hype. It failed miseralby in the scuttle, but work well for face lathering. I'll use it on my DE days, when I'm pressed for time.

I have this stuff and I like it. But for some reason only this cream will flake up after a little time and I get these little fragments of "dust" flying thru the air as it dries. It's a little weird. But I like the scent. It's not as strong as I would have liked.

Thanked: 18Speaking about coconut, the best scent IMO is from Mike's Natural Soaps. Also the GFT cream is really good, no experience with the TOBS.

I love TOBS coconut cream and I'm not usually a fan of coconut. When I first tried this cream I thought of vanilla. So maybe that or something else has been added to make the scent less like raw coconut. Or maybe different coconuts than you are used to were used. This cream also inspired me to try another coconut cream, Razor Rock Caribbean Coconut. Now that one smells like what you may be used to. Just like a bag of fresh coconut shavings you get from the grocers.
Nothing is as it ever was.
