Thanked: 116Vintage Yardley English Lavendar Shaving Bowl
I happened to stumble on something else... a vintage bowl of Yardley English Lavender shaving soap. It still smells incredible. Package is mint and has all the pamphlets still.
Does anyone think it'll still be this good? I have no idea how to date it.

I wouldn't use it; I would keep it as is. Great for any collection.

Personally, I think it's TOO good not to use. I have three and want more. They lather up great.

Just my feelings; if it's lasted this long without being used, it was meant to be left alone as a beautiful display in the shave den.
I see soaps differently from razors & brushes.

Thanked: 1195Unless it's turned green or growing a fuzzy cure for cancer it should be fine. Vintage Yardley comes highly recommended, which is more than most will say about the more modern version.

Thanked: 1195Full disclosure - I've never used the shaving soap but I love their body soap, so I'm going by the multiple reviews I've read about Yardley vintage vs modern. I have used older soaps though, so I'd soak the brush and leave a tablespoon or so of water on the puck to soak for awhile as well. Load the brush for twice as long as you normally would to break the surface skin and it should be fine. An alternative would be to grate the top layer off before loading the brush.
