Default Thinking of trying some new creams

So I've been using a concoction of Williams, Van Der Hagen, glycerine and Every Man Jack cream. Having recently gotten some more "classy" razors Im wondering if Im not limiting my shaves by using cheap cream. So I've been looking around and have been kind of thinking about picking up some Proraso Red and RazoRock Fresco.

I know Proraso comes highly recommended but what about the RazoRock? Would these be good ventures into the world of more sophisticated shaving creams?

With the whole sky's the limit reply I made a choice to order some from whippeddog. He has a sampler pack that includes MWF, Bald Frog, and Strop Shoppe soaps. Excited to try some lather from each of them.

Well when it comes to soaps and creams Im seriously going to hold myself to a budget. After seeing some of the prices of cremes and soaps at SRD, I think Im going to hold myself to around $20 depending on how long a 5oz tub lasts. Any more expensive just seems a bit excessive to me.

I was thinking about picking up some CO Bigelow to try as well seeing as how I can get that locally and its made by Proraso, but I've read that the comparison between the two is like night and day and that Proraso is much better. So I dont know about that one.

They are exactly the same. Any differences that people claim are in their head. Bigelow=Proraso (green).

The only difference is the scent of Proraso Sandalwood (red) and Sensitive (white) vs. Bigelow.

A new puck of DR Harris is about $15. DR Harris has been my favorite. But even cheaper and really good is Proraso. With spring being here and warmer weather on the way, you may want to go with the green or blue labels. Sandalwood can be a bit strong in hot weather. But that's a personal choice. I have the red, green, and blue. They are all great creams.

You could go with MWF, Tabc and even DR Harris too if you just bought the refills and put them in your own container. Even if you bought pyrex containers to hold the refills they would still be in your budget range. That is what I did. Yes Proraso is good also.

Thats a good suggestion Bob. I hadnt thought about getting my own bowls and just buying refills. I guess I didnt pay attention to the fact that a little wooden bowl is so expensive.
