In the winter months my face after work is red and burning from being outside and also from dust drying me out. I tried avocado creams, almond soaps and others that are suppose to be moisturizing. They didn't seem to make the situation any better. I had tried MWF a while back and hated it!! The smell I didn't particularly like and I had a hard time lathering. But the past 2 months, I revisited MWF and have been using it exclusively. Its helped a lot with my dry skin, and the shaves have been better as well. It has a certain slickness to it that is just superb!! I'm guessing its the tallow base that's giving the great slickness. I get the same slickness from my Tabac when I use it. I think everyone should give MWF a go at some point in their life. Its a great shave soap!!

so after reading some of the post, someone mentioned it smells like Ivory soap. I think Williams mug soap smells like Ivory soap, would this be a good comparison?

Sorry, I haven't used Ivory Soap since the 1950's, at my grandmother's house. Wish I could help more. Like I said in that other thread, it has a talcum powder smell, to me, and I really like it.

Ivory Soap is the first thing I thought of when I first used it (MWF) but after using it a short while I think it's a little more complex than that. Well I used MWF again this morning and thought I had the right ratio of water to soap but it dried on me. It turned into a paste on my face. I'm close to figuring it out.

Watch Mantic's MWF lathering video on YouTube. I did that and nailed it on the 1st try. As for the scent, it seems very light compared to most others I use, but boy I love that skin conditioning!

    Agree on more complex!

I've heard it compared to Ivory soap so many times that I bought some Ivory this morning too see. Now, I'm not trying to be contrary here, just IMO, but I don't think it's even close. Ivory smells like soap. MWF, well it smells rich and comforting much like it feels on your face post shave. Still I can only compare it to a rich talc type scent, but I can't think of a good comparison.
