Thanked: 498Acqua Di Parma vs RazoRock XXX Everything seems to be the same but the price
I'm a sucker for soaps & creams, so I thought I'd treat myself to something pricey that I wouldn't normally buy. I picked up a tub of Acqua Di Parma cream and the moment I opened it I recognized the scent. I.M.H.O. it smells exactly the same as RazoRock XXX. It even looks like it. While I dig the scent, the fact that I have basically the same product but it cost me 6 times what RazoRock XXX costs. This raised my blood pressure a few pegs.
Stick with the RazorRock and save some dough.

I think it is the same stuff. There was something about Razorock having to discontinue XXX for that reason. A lot of creams, English & otherwise are made in the same factory to each seller's specs. Sort of like generic drugs: its the exact same molecule, but a different name/price.

Thanked: 1195While I don't doubt your claim that they smell the same I'm sure they aren't made with the same formula. I don't own either one, so I can't comment firsthand. BUT... how does the performance compare with latherablility, glide, moisturization etc?

Thanked: 2591From my experience with a lot of RazoRock soaps, P160, and Cella, the traditional scent seems to be almond based and they all have it, only the appearance is different. It is possible that Acqua di Parma looks similar to RazoRock XXX but is not exactly the same, are the ingredients the same?
One thing is for sure, RazoRock soaps/creams are really good IMO. I am going to try Vitos as well and see how it compares.Stefan

Gentlemen, it's been a while since I've used RazoRock and hardly remember its fragrance and performance. That's why I can't make a fair comparison of it with Acqua de Parma. I have Acqua di Parma, however, and although I like it overall, I don't think it's worth the high price. Once my tub is finished, Acqua di Parma will be retire from the shave den.

Thanked: 498The only difference I can see in performance is that the A.D.P. is a tad softer, and it appears to build a lather a bit easier then the RazoRock.
As Obie stated, once I get thru the tub I wont be getting any more.
Its just to pricey.

I blind shave tested both several times and they are very very close. I still found the ADP a few notches better as that's the one I constantly pointed out as being the better of the two, but not worth 6x the price.

Thanked: 18I used to have the XXX and sold it a few months ago because it burned my skin terribly. On the other hand I have the ADP, and use it occasionally. IMHO they smell very much alike but are different formulas, skincare wise the ADP is better. Conclusion, they are NOT exactly the same, but very much alike.

Thanked: 45Interesting thread. I have them both and they do smell very similar. The both provide a great shave, and while the AdP does lather easier, it makes my face feel itchy afterwards. I prefer the XXX.
