Truefitt and Hill
Has anyone ever used the Truefitt and Hill? I heard a lot of good things about their shaving products so I went ahead and ordered their cream and pre/post shave oils and balms. The only thing I've used so far is the Art of Shaving sandalwood line up. Worked pretty well but I'm trying to try some new brands and scents to see what really works for me.

I really like the T&H Unscented and 1805 shave creams. I have a tub of each and though they may be pricey, they last a long time...you only need a snurdle at a time for a 3 pass shave.

I have 1805, Grafton, and Sandalwood shaving cream tubs, the 1805 and Grafton aftershave balms, and the pre-shave oil. All of it fantastic, pricey but worth every penny. Truefitt & Hill makes great products.

Did you get their sampler pack? That lets you try the whole range to see what you like. For me, Trafalgar wins, hands down, thought they're all nice (sandalwood, almond, rose, west indian limes were also favorites as I recall).

Have recently begun using Truefit and Hill Lavender shave cream. Excellent stuff. I don't know how it would compare to AOS stuff, but it beats everything else I have tried so far hands down. The very first thing which impressed me was the near-instant latherability. I had a perfect lather in about 5 seconds, literally. And it just got better from there. I think you'll like their stuff.

I've never used a scuttle, but I bowl lather. I warm the bowl by soaking it in the same water I soak my brush in while in the shower. Then I pour the water out of the bowl, though I don't worry about the last couple of drops, and squeeze in some shaving cream (I use the tube stuff because I travel a lot). I take my brush out of the water and shake it out a bit. I don't know exactly how much water might be left, but it's not dripping wet and it's not too dry. Sometimes I have to add a drop or two of water, adding a few more seconds, but still, it's only a few seconds to get the whipped cream consistency.
None of my other soaps or creams do this, though.
