A minute is just fine to make lather. Some take more time than that. T&H is good stuff. I really like it. For me, it's right behind Castle Forbes. I have 1805, Trafalgar, Rose and Key West Lime. A little goes a long way. I use a scuttle to build lather. I'll smear about an almond (or less) size dollop in the bottom, and put just enough hot water to cover it. I give it a minute to melt while I'm doing other things. Once it's melted it will help you build lather a bit faster.
As far as the brush goes. I pre soak mine in the scuttle with hot tap water, which gets poured out, and refilled with hoter water from the microwave. 4 cups in a large measuring cup at 3 mins is perfect. The brush gets a good shake, and is usually good to go at that point. Just add water to your lather as needed.Last edited by zib; 05-13-2013 at 12:24 AM.

You know, I never thought about "melting" it before. I'm definitely going to try that tomorrow.
