Thanked: 114Recommend me a new soap
I’m near the end of my tub of Mitchells Wool Fat. I’ve used it exclusively for well over a year now (I don’t recall the exact purchase date, but I know it was a long time ago). MWF lasts much longer, and is therefore much more economical, than some other soaps I’ve tried.
I need a recommendation for a replacement soap. I like MWF a lot, but I’m not sure I want to shave with it for another year straight. If only MWF came in a sandalwood scent to switch to.
Recommendations?

To quote another SRP member (lakechuck): "Cella: the soap so good they'll sell it to you by the kilo."
The kilo is around 40$ and should last anywhere between 1 and 2 years depending on your use and method.
It's a really soft soap approaching the hardness of cold butter. Cut it up in 8 ou 16 pieces and store it in the freezer. Leave a new piece on the counter overnight to thaw and then mold it in your preferred bowl using your fingers. Make sure you like the almond scent before ordering!

There is a world of delightful soaps out there. Here are my recommendations. Take your pick:
Martin de Candre, Czech & Speake, Joris, Tabac, Institute Karite, D.R. Harris range, Bath House Spanish Fig & Nutmeg, Provence Sante, Tabula Rasa, Mama Bear, Mike's Natural Soaps, Cella, I Coloniali, Scottish Fine Soaps, and the list goes on. Something here should grab your fancy.

If I am not mistaken Kent shaving soap is made by MWF. It comes in a different scent or so I am led to believe. Maybe worth researching.

Thanked: 114I tried a sample of Cella early on. My recollection was that it seemed to disappear much faster than harder soaps. Perhaps worth a second look though.
That was my impressive of AOS sandalwood soap as well. I loved the smell and performance of the soap, but it didn't last very long and was comparably expensive.
