Thread: Homemade shave stick question

So I have flash-microwaved several glycerin soap pucks and poured them into empty tubes, but I always seem to come out with a stick that has a slightly weaker scent (assuming its due to essential oil burn off) than the original puck. I always take care to use only 5-7 seconds per trip to the microwave, to minimize the scent loss, but maybe its unavoidable... Has anyone used any other method, such as grating with a glycerin soap?

the double boiler method seems to work pretty well for me
