Do a search on here for snurdle or snurdler... you won't be disappointed.

No need for a snurdler even, just use a finger tip to scoop an appropriate sized dollop and place on brush tip.

Hmph... sir, how terribly uncouth the mere suggestion of such banal action as using one's finger. If done in such an abhorrent manor, one shall never know if a proper snurdle of cream with which to build an exquisite lather had been measured. A "dollop", as you put it, is something only a heathen would dare consider using in formulation of a lather for a shave. Indeed, I should suspect that the rapscallion who would attempt such a thing would also shave with a razor which has a loose pin and gives only mediocre shaves against the grain. Furthermore, I resent the implication the the Gunneth of Six is not an international hero to be praised for inventing what is the most civilized tool in the wet shaving world.

    Hmph. Finger and dollop indeed.

(No offense to anyone... If you don't get it, just search out the snurdle thread and all shall become clear)

    RVShave:
There have been numerous discussions comparing creams and soap. Some hold creams give you better cushion while soaps better glide. No one has proved that to be the case, however, and the opinions swing from one end of the spectrum to the other. For me, a quality soap or cream will do both. I base my criterion on that. Go with a quality soap or cream and lay the question to rest.
For the most part, I prefer soaps to creams, and have more in my rotation, not because soaps are better than creams; rather, I enjoy lathering with soaps more, because they give me a bigger sense of history. Not only that, but the lathering ritual is a wee bit more colorful.
