Or perhaps just don't ruin a perfectly good walk around a landscaped park, and leave the sack of skinny wadi's at home. Could never see the sense in flogging the cr@p out of a little ball with a skinny wadi, only to go chase after it and flog it again.

Well i suppose if wandering around carrying a crash mat and looking for rocks gets a bit tiring you could always use the crash mat as a matress and have a nana nap.
Back to the topic, i havent done anything fitness wise for a few weeks and what with house repairing/ finishing over the next few i cant see much happening for me on the exercise front for at least 3 weeks.
I just finished a hard run. My PTE index landed squarely on 5.0 meaning 50+ hours of restitution. VO2 in the mid 50's.
I'm stoked about that! I'm no pup anymore, so a very good result that. To me.
So this is the bike I'm thinking of. You can mix and match colours; I like this combo. I checked out some restored/re-built bikes using vintage racing frames, which looked very nice but they were about a grand. I know that's cheap for some bike riders, but for me too much at present. I can get this for about 450...

dont know much about new bikes as i always just bought something old and cheap or new and really cheap, but if you like it go for it, there isnt much to a fixie, so i would have thought that sort of money should get you something ok at entry level, a friend of mine just spent something like $3500 building one with parts. all the cool kids would take the front brake off though.
No, no, no carl, back pedal brakes have a free wheeling hub when you dont pedal, but when you pedal backwards it applies the brakes, on a fixie the hub never freewheels so if you take your feet off the pedals going downhill the cranks and pedals become ankle blenders :) and yes take the front brake off, you have legs for brakes, and you transfer your bodyweight forwards to slide along etc google fixie vids on youtube and see what the really cool kids do :)
Well I just got back from the gym 20 minutes ago, having some protein so figured I'll lay down my Chest and Tricep workout, which I did today, Wednesday was Legs, and both times were 20 minutes then on the eliptical machine after my, "dynamic warm-up" my PT gave me.
So today was:
Chest Press Machine 15 reps, 4 times (15/4)
Tricep Pulldown 15/4
Cable Fly 15/4
Machine Dips 15/4
Decline Chest Press 15/4
Tricep kickback 15/4
Then 20 on the eliptical....always feel better after a workout...stress go bye-bye!!!
I've ridden fixed gear quite a bit, both on the velodrome with no brakes, and on the road, with a front brake alone. Once you know what you're doing you don't need the brake often. Trouble is, like a parachute, if you ever do need it, and you don't have it, you may never need it again. :rolleyes:
