Thanked: 1587Yep, Birn. The belt gets washed each fortnight now whether it needs it or not. If the black washes out I'll just get another one with "crochetnator" embroided on it. Did I mention I am an avid crocheter? I'll hand you your arse in the ring, and hand you a custom-designed beanie in the changing room

I first read Folk Medicine in the 1960s. Apple cider vinegar and honey mixed in hot water in the morning gets you to the throne quicker than coffee, cleans you out, and purportedly will ward off many illnesses.

Same time frame for reading Back To Eden by Jethro Kloss. This book first came out in the 1930s IIRC and is filled with home remedies. I've tried many of them over the years, still have a copy, and use it when the need arises.

I found for athletes foot, changing to clean socks daily, and foot washing, is the cat's whiskers. A co-worker of mine, back about 10 years ago, in his mid thirties, had his toenails, all of them, surgically removed because he was plagued by toenail fungus. It was an elective procedure, and a bit 'over the top' AFAIC, but different strokes for different folks.
He certainly got rid of the problem. I'm not recommending the same as a solution, just an example of the lengths some people might go to. Too bad he didn't try the spray bottle with vinegar that MrMoo recommended first.Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
