BTW, I never wear the lycra or whatever it is. Levi's shorts and an orange t-shirt. Once out on the trail I ripped my shin open deep and wide. Bleeding profusely. I would have bled out if I hadn't had a belt on with my levis. I was able to use it to tourniquet the leg and peddle out to the car and get medical attention. Happened on a weekday morning when it was unlikely that anyone would be along.
