Former Flyer too (I will say nothing about the Penguins). An inspiration to the younger players with his work ethic.

Of course Mr. Hockey played until he was 52. But then that's almost not even fair to compare to. Gordie Howe was super human

I envy the guys who got to see him play. Imagine playing with your sons on the same line in the pros. One of his sons, Mark, became a great defenseman for the Flyers. His jersey was retired by the club. Gotta love a Gordie Howe hat trick: goal, assist, and a fight!

Yeah, I saw Yanni Gourde get one a couple of years ago. You have to admire him. He's not a very big guy. Only 5'8" but he will tie up with about anybody. It's funny watching him stand next to victor Hedman. He looks like a little boy. Hedman is almost a foot taller.

Dug out the old hockey bag, found my Gretzky style Jofa helmet. Didn't help much the time a little guy caught me from behind and put my head on the ice!

Speaking of Bruins and short guys, I'm watching a Bruins game now. They're ahead at second intermission but I can hardly look at that giant rat Brad Marchand. I'm sure if you're a Bruins fan you love him. I loved him in the finals last year when they were playing against St Louis. The enemy of my enemy is my friend. Boy that guy knows how to get under your skin like a splinter.

Didn't they tell you that end is supposed to go up?

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

Had this mask made for me in 1971 (age 15) and was playing on the travel Midget team. Our high school did not have a hockey team..so we got together with 8 other towns and had a town league for the next 3 years. Then it was the beer leagues...lol ...lots of fun. Played until 26. Then ....they talked Me into putting on my leather pads at age 40. Played 12 games and did OK. Was playing with kids 1/2 my age from Saint Anslems College....boy they could shoot and skate.
