Thread: 0.5 micron paste/spray in UK/EU

I have this modular paddle strop and it comes with one side of clear leather intended for pasting. I'd like to some 0.5 CrOx paste or diamond spray for basic maintenance , but can't find a decent vendor in the UK/EU.

The vendor who sold me the strop doesn't do 0.5, only 0.25. I'd have loved to get the SRD diamond spray but postage costs make it an impractical option.

Any suggestions?

What were the shipping costs for those? I have been looking at them myself, as they are said to be of good quality, but I was unable to find shipping costs.

To Australia was about 7 bucks.

You're right, they sell 0.3 micron crox and 0.1 micron ferrox. I'm not sure you'll notice the difference when shaving, though.

Hi. I got some 0.5 cro ox from thiersisard.co.uk for £20 they also do thiers issard diamond paste but its quite pricey. They do their own diamond paste too which is cheaper. Steve Dempster whos the vender also has sister sites dovo.co.uk and the invisible edge. Ive brought loads from the sites and he also hones and restores. A great person to do bussiness with.
Neil Miller at stropshop.co.uk does diamond sprays which are about £12 which Ive also used so you cant go wrong with either. Neil also makes his legendry strops too. Ive got his bridle leather with natural linen which is beautiful to look at and use. Many people on this site has his strops and can attest to his craftmanship.

That's interesting, I emailed Steve and he said they didn't do 0.5 ...

Sorry I assumed the cro ox was 0.5 either way its great to use. Just had a look at strop shop and theve got cro ox powder but dosnt say what grit size. They appear to have run out of 0.5 spray. I got mine a few months ago, im sure they will have some soon.

i order my CrOx from Larry at Whipped Dog....i order like 5 packets of the 0.3 micron CrOx and 5 packets of 0.1 micron FeOx powder....mix them into a finger paint consistency using some mineral oil and then paint the surface of my own Balsa strops that i make for myself....comes out awesome and really keeps my razor perfectly shave ready....the powder he gets seems to give very consistent results and the packets are only $5 each and last forever...since you need so little
