Thanked: 0How do you hang your strop?
Hi.
New to the straight razor and just got my Tony Miller strop. Now, where do I hang this thing? I'm thinking of screwing a hook into the wall for it but thought I would check here first.
So, How do you hang your strop?
Thanks,
Paul

Thanked: 1587Hi Paul and welcome.
Lots of different approaches to this. Probably the best thing is to look at this thread. Should give you plenty of ideas.

Paul,
I use a nice looking hook made by Stanley and found in Home Depot or Lowes. Comes in brass, nicle or white and is less than $3 I think it even comes with screws to hold it on.

I have a towel rod about waist high in my bathroom. I took the snap from my Tony Miller strop and tied it to the rod (1/2" steel) with two wire ties. Seems to work fine. J.

I've been using a pipecleaner to attach my strop to the doorknob in my bathroom, but Tony's got a good idea there. The right "strop hook" could add some class to the bathroom!

I use a radiator hose clamp (for the car) on the back of my bedroom doorknob.

I use a 2 inch steel ring, slipped over the pin in my bathroom door.,
and attach the strop to be used to the ring. Tap the pin up about a
half inch on the middle hinge (assuming your door has 3 hinges),
and leave it there.
Just be sure to remove the ring, otherwise it will mar the door when
you open it.
When not in use, my strops hang on the back of the bathroom door.

I use an eyebolt screwed into the bathroom door frame a couple of inches higher than my belly button.

Eyebolt... 42 inches above the floor, in the "spare" walk-in (8'x10')closet off the located between the bedroom and the master bath. this is also the room where i keep the razors and spare products i even have an area where i can hone.when we renovated the house we went with 2 matching closets... of which i only was allowed to use one wall.
Be just and fear not.
