Well, I'm not what you'd call "handy" - screwing a hook into our vanity unit would probably exhaust the limits of my technical skills. So I just hang my strop on the towel rail using a key ring with a swivel clip on the end (like what you get on the end of those necklaces they give you to attach swipe cards to). Works really well unless you get over enthusiastic and pull the towel rack off the wall (but I haven't done that for, oh, about a month now...)

I have three hanging strops, all with different sorts of hanging methods.

Two of the strops have a hole punched at the top in the center. One of these has a clasp and a swivel hook attached so it's actually a little difficult to attach it to anything; the size of the clip is too small to hook around anything. The other has string running through the hole and tied on one end with a bead. The bead is pulled down close to the strop and the loop of string left can easily hang on a door knob and the bead is pushed up to ensure the loop doesn't slip off.
The third strop has a D ring and a rectangular ring attached to either end. I honestly don't have anything to hang it on, but a hook on the underside of a cabinet would work.

Like all things in life... grab the brass ring. Home depot or Lowes have nice looking brass rings and with that, Tony's strop hook works nicely.

I simply loop some chord through the hardware and it's literally good to hang wherever I feel like at the moment. Currently it lives on the cross beam of my wardrobe, but I've hung it on a hook in the bathroom, from door handles, a pull-up bar and top frame door jam. The possibilities are endless.

They got these @ Home Depot in the paint dept. for $2. Hang your strop anywhere.

Mine stays flat on a shelf in the same plastic sleeve I received it. When I strop, I use a carabiner to clip it on to the towel rack on the vanity. It's a little low for my liking but I haven't found a better place to hang it. Yet.

In a nice cotton pair of boxer-briefs, slightly to the left.
