    Default Chromium oxide

Good morning, I recently bought chromium oxide powder, I would like to make solid sticks, what product can I use to solidify the oxide?
    Thanks

It will take a lot of pressure to turn the powder into a stick. You can make it into a paste by adding a small amount of light mineral oil.

You can melt beeswax and mix the Cox in it. Or you could buy a green dialux stick and be done with it.

    Not a crayon answer:
I have made a lather with a cheap "paint brush" in a cup and added the CrOx to it and then painted the green lather onto a canvas or linen material and let it dry. Then rub with a clean clothe to remove excess powder..

By the way, some CrOx is not to be trusted as it is used for colorant and the partical sizes vary greatly.

    Good luck!

PS, years back, folks on the forums made hones with CrOx mixed into melted shellac or hard wax. In "Mentos" tins!.

The one I received is just too shiny to do much good. A polish but not enough to really refresh a blade. Perhaps, like barber hones, the amount of Crox to the binder was insufficient to make it work well.
