I assume that since I see antique strops with nicks in them all the time that it won't hurt the razor to continue using it?

If this is going to keep happening I think I will just get a horse or a cow and keep em on hand for stropping purposes. This is where the leather/horsehide argument really comes into play. I think cows are more passive plus while I'm there I can get fresh milk for my morning coffee!
i'm not sure which is a more frightening thought... the use of live animals as strops or that you use milk in your coffee.

Although i have always found a firm female thigh, flexed, to be more than adequate as stropping media... just make sure you use the outer thigh.

    Now you're telling me...

Any newbie in need for a strop, I've got one to pay forward? Need to make room for an upgrade....
