I just did this the other day and it works very easily.... Use whatever strop dressing yer going to use (I used neets foot) Take a very fine cheese grater and shave some of the bar into a small glass bowl filled with a small amount of the dressing, mix with finger and apply as Josh showed above works perfectly, and very easy... I stored the left over in a small AS sample bottle for future use, should be about 20 years before I need to do it again

PS: I said glass bowl for a good reason, some idiot I know well used the wife's Tupperware and left green Cr impregnated into the plastic!!!!!

Thanks gssixgun for the confirmation. What's the best way to deal with CO that streaked on the strop? Will it liquify on the strop with application of water or oil?

Hello,This is my 2 cents worth clean your strop with your shaving soap it works on mine. I had to much neatfoot oil, a barber friend told me to just lather it up let soak for a few minutes then wipe off.

    God Bless

Nice series. Thanks for taking the time to post this. Based on this, I think I may have overpasted my diamond pasted paddle strops. Think I may consider cleaning them off and starting from scratch with lighter pasting.

    Default bump

I know this is a dumb question, but I am a newbie on here and I have to know what a "bump" means? I know this is off topic, but this is the last place I saw it used. I am assuming this is just like giving a thumbs up to someone?

I'm not very forum savvy but I figured out this one! A bump is simply a post done to bring the thread back up to the top of the list. An old thread that had it's last post two years ago could be back 10 or 20 pages. If someone posts a new response to the thread, it "bumps" it back to the top of the list and therefore resurrects it for others to read.

Default all my strop questions answered in one photo series

I just asked strop/paste questions in the newbie forum, and here it all is in a great series of photos and descriptions. I need to spend more time reading the stickies in these forums...
