    Question Strop nick repair question

So I have a nick in my strop... I read the WIKI and am not sure trying to glue it is the way.... though I am not sure so here is a pic and I am open to suggestions. I am getting a new strop in the next month but want to keep this one around as I will probably mount it on a block.

Its a Jemico 1 3/4" width and the nik is about 3/8" long and does not go deeper then the top finnish of the leather.

Either a touch of the leather glue just under the cut to seal it up, or a good rub down with a pumice stone to take it out....
From the looks of what you have I would think the dab of glue is going to be the neater, cleaner, repair... What the heck if the glue doesn't work you can always rub the crap outta that after with the stone ....

There is the one white pva type glue called Weldbond . It is very similar to Elmer's white glue but has some different additives I guess, it acts a little different from regular white pva's, i like it a lot. the bottle says Space Age Glue lol. you dont see that much anymore.

with either you first need to size it. a thin neat coating that you allow to dry or very nearly dry and then another coat that you let get tacky. Neat and precise with no squeeze out. Then you probably need to sand it to help it disappear, I probably need to compress my strops with glass

    Worked like a charm....

glued NEATLY and sanded after 24 hours and re-oiled with a little neatsfoot and some hand rubbing.

    THANK YOU ALL !!!!!!!!!
