    Default Strop quality...

I first want to thank everyone about setting me straight about the difference in quality between strops! I had bought a ZEEPK from ebay thinking "I just made a great buy". But then I found SRP and you all quickly advised me of my error! Thank You from the bottom of my heart! But a quick question, is the ZEEPK okay enough to use as maybe a pasted strop in the future? Thanks

It should work as long as the surface is not so slick or hard that it will not hold the paste. Some of the imported strops have a nice finish that should work fine for pastes but some are very hard with what looks like a high gloss finish. I would not think the pastes would adhere to this type.

Flatness is very important too as you want reasonably good contact across the width of the strop for both pasting and daily use.

I think that you could rough up the surface with fine sandpaper and then the paste would adhere. I am pretty sure I have seen posts addressing this.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
