I checked at lowes and didn't see them, but maybe I missed them.

Whats the story with Tandy leather?

There's not really a gentlemanly way to tell the story, so I won't. Suffice to say I will not spend money there again. OTOH, dewey has had very good experiences there, so YMMV.

Search on ‘dee rings’ and you will get plenty of hits. I guess that’s what the real cowboys call them thing-a-ma-jigs.

eBay Store - stecksstore: STRAP, TACK SADDLE: TANDY LEATHERCRAFT CINCH STRAP LEATHER 6' LONG X 2

This is an ebay store that has some d rings. It has some other stuff for leather, too. I bought a couple of needles a while back before I got into straight shaving and I had no problems.

In all fairness to Tandy Leather Co., in general, I think their service probably depends on who is running it in your area locally. Yes, they all should be consistent. Perhaps they are not.

I deal with Tandy Leather Co. in Boise, Idaho, and they are absolutely terrific.

Prolly so. But I can't recommend the one in Fort Worth.
