Thread: Do you find some razors harder to strop than others?

I just read that, Jimmy, & realised i wasn't sure how i gripped mine exactly. Tried both of your's, old & revelatory new one. I just can't do either! I hold it between the tip & first joint. I guess each to his own!

Argggh now I have to go and try that !!

Edit; Just took a stab at it and for me it is not a stable enough of a grip.

Yep I am a thumb and forefinger pad stropper, I hold dead center on the first pad of my forefinger too Ben...

Hmmm seems to me we have the makings of a poll here. This is interesting.

It's amazing that what works so well for each of us, can feel so alien when another tries it. I'd have to re-learn stropping if i couldn't use that first pad.
Now where's that poll? It's an extra 10 bucks for the casino!

Say Dups, not trying to hijck your thread but ....... if you were to ask a mod if you could add the poll they might make it happen. If it was my poll I would frame it something like;

When you strop do you hold the blade;

between the thumb pad and the forefinger pad ?

thumb pad and first digit ?

thumb pad and in between first and second digit ?

other ? Please elaborate.
