Default How do you store your multi-sided pasted paddle strop?

I recently made a paddle strop with some balsa wood, and pasted it, but now I'm curious how I should store it. I worry about dust, lint, hair, etc, etc, getting onto it and compromising it's sharpening/smoothing abilities.

I almost want to put it in a plastic bag or some plastic wrap or something. Even if I found a container to put it in, I wouldn't want the sides unprotected because the balsa is very soft and if it bangs around, it will definitely get damaged. I could just hang it up or something, but then I still worry about the dust/dirt/etc sticking in between the grain and to the paste.

    Any ideas?

My paddle strop came in a cardboard sleeve and that's what I use. Depending on how big it is, I would put it in a plastic sheet protector or plastic envelope and hang it in that.

I wrap mine in saran wrap - I use a new sheet each time to avoid cross contamination.

I wrap mine in a plain old ziplock bag. I only use a bit of cr ox. I've never had a problem with contamination, though I never thought of saran wrap.
    Hmmmmm.......

I have a four sided strop, so by contamination, I mean mixing the different grits if I were to re-wrap with the same plastic. I also have a hanger with just cr ox and I don't bother wrapping that one.

Default how I store my strops

I hang my paddle strops and also Tony Miller strop. My Theirs Issard paddle strop came with a leather case which I keep it stored in. I try to protect the Tony Miller strop and Thiers Issard in the towel closet to protect them from the shower steam.

I have a hole in the handles of mine and hang them in my utility closet. The closet is relatively dust free.

I have two of Tony's dual sided paddles all pasted up. They came with nifty storage bags. Right now, they're just standing up on end on the top shelf of my walk in closet, which has become a shave den.
