Thanked: 317I believe that's chromium oxide a.k.a. chrome-ox, Cr2O3.
It is a slightly abrasive polishing compound to refine and refresh and edge.

i cannot see whole back of your strop but if it is all surface area that is sufficient enough. You don't have to work it in etc.

Thanked: 317Yes, the main goal is to increase time between honings and/or refine the edge after honing.
As far as spreading it around and proper application, I'd recommend you either read up on it in the wiki, or wait for somebody else to answer. I really don't have any experience with pastes.
Edit*** I went AFK after clicking reply, and before actually typing one, so it looks like you got better answers from everybody else before I got around to an actual answer.Last edited by VeeDubb65; 07-25-2009 at 11:30 PM.
