A few months ago while trying to figure out my newbie set-up, I e-mailed Tony with some questions about strops. I received answers quickly which bought up more questions. After a couple e-mails, he was kind enough to call me so we could talk in person. He didn't have to do that.

Over a couple phone calls and with his guidance, we figured out what I wanted, needed and didn't need. We also talked about some other straight stuff.

I think he probably got "the look" for being late for dinner after one of our visits.

I told him I was waiting for some bonus/incentive money to come in to cover the costs. Tony said no problem and that he would set aside what we discussed, since he had them at the moment. Let him know when the funds arrived. He didn't have to do that, either.

The one week expected turn around time turned into a longer drawn out affair which embarrassed me to no end. I kept Tony posted by e-mail to let him know I hadn't fallen off the edge of the earth and still wanted the strops.

All the while, sitting on one of his shelves was a complete rig that could have been out the door and money in hand. He still didn't have to do that.

Finally, the money came in and our transaction was completed. I am the very proud owner of a true piece of art and craftsmanship.

Tony Miller has the patience of a saint and is a shining example that I aspire to emulate.
