Maybe cerium oxide on balsa for the remaining side?
Unless you wanted to go with a diamond coat or something...

If it was me, I'd do all four sides in Leather. I'd go with Crox on one side, and the Diamond Pastes on the rest. 1.0, .50 and .25.
We have assumed control !

The problem with CrOx on a travel paddle is it does rub off on things.. unless you packed the strop in it's own protective case/whatever (which is really to protect the clothes in the suitcase it inevitably gets thrown in), I could see it causing a bit of heart ache. I guess a plastic bag could work too .
I'm with zib, if you make a 4 sided paddle, make all 4 sides leather, and put pastes on them. Then just make a two sided paddle with leather on one side and linen on the other for travel.

I was running the Ideal across the wife and she gave me one of them DUH moments when she said don't you have that stuff on you hanging thingie over there (wife tanslator: don't you have some Comeum ox on yourhanging strop over there) and I was like ya she said why can't you use the stuff before we leave if need. so with that said I think I may just do a double sided paddle stop with leather and linen
