I felt the same way. I felt that if a pro barber used a squared off end that a handle was for an amateur. Then I got some strops with handles and now I think I like them better. YMMV.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Well, may as well give it a shot then. A new leather, a new width, and handles, that's a lot of first in a product. Best way to figure out what I like I suppose!

I have the Premium IV and love it. I'm glad I was talked into buying. The draw it nice and even the entire length. The quality is superb. And I do like the handles, it's easier on the hands during a longer stropping cycle.

Thanks for the hands-on review! You all may well have me convinced that I truly do need another strop, just to make sure I have the right one

From what I have seen I personally do not like plain old latigo. I prefer horsehide. But I have liked every SRD premium I've seen/felt. really good stuff.

I have seen and used the SRD Bridal, Latogo and paddle strops. All are quality strops and even though a have several other strops I find myself using the SRD strop exclusively. The SRD products I saw at the meet (lots of them) are quality goods. Seems to me that buying goods from SRD is a no brainer!

Well, you've convinced me, I pulled the trigger on the Premium IV today. I'll let everyone know how it looks and performs when it arrives!
