    Certainly not that I've noticed. You wipe the blade down before use anyway. You'd have to get a load of it in the cut to actually be bad for you, unless you happened to be allergic to it.

    The best way to tell would be to put a bit of your arm and see how the skin reacts. No reaction, no problem!

    The key ingredient to WD-40 is fishoil IIRC. Cool thing about it is that it displaces moisture, coats the steel, & was developed for missles...

    No matter what oil you use, hopefully you wipe it down before you strop it.
