    Default Cleaning linen strop?

My TM linnen is getting a little black from all the steel being dragged over it. Should it be cleaned?? If so, how would i go about cleaning it ?? thanks

Shoot Tony a PM and ask him. I'd like to know too. With old vintage strops I've washed them in cold water, by hand, with Woolite. I did that to get lumps out of them that they had from being folded. Worked well and cleaned them pretty good too but I don't know if that would be the best thing to do with Tony's linen ? It is a lot finer than the vintage linens.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I've used soap and water before. I just separated the fabric component, washed it and then placed it in a folded towel (so there was towel on both sides of the fabric) and then laid it flat with books on top to keep it flat until it was dry.

By the following morning it was good to go!

But I agree with Jimmy. Definately worth dropping Tony a PM to see if theres a particular way he recommends.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Yup, and Tony's a real nice guy, I've talked to him on the phone many times, he loves to talk shop, and probaby would be happy to help...

I'm did the same as the other's, hand washed, wrapped it in a towel, and put some books on it to flaten...Worked fine, lasts a long time....
