    It will not leave any grit on or in the leather like sandpaper might. Important when the strop will be used with micro pasts like diamond and CBN sprays, or for that matter when you will strop a razor with the leather.

    I believe many of the errant deep stria we see on some of the Photos under magnification it is a result of unwanted grit on the strop.

    A DMT treated leather leave a very nice finish for just stropping in place of linen when using micro pastes like Diamond or CBN sprays and works well to hold paste to the strop. Personally there are better options to paste like Nylon/Poly and foam, cleaner & uniform. Balsa has its own grit already imbedded and deforms way too easily. If you want to paste wood, 5 gallon paint stir stick from your local hardware store… good price too.
