I call my first strop, the Exotic Leopard strop because of all the nicks I had to sand out.
With Pixel's loom, I take my time,,not a nick yet,,,

I think is because of the variables between the hanging, bench, and loom strops we try to intermingle. All have advantages and benefits, yet each must be approached differently.
It seems best to find one and stick with it! (except for those "special" blades!)
It seems good to be an expert of a particular strop. One thing is certain. One has not a need to strop fast. Slow, shure, and accurate is the way to strop. Fast OR Slow!Last edited by sharptonn; 10-17-2013 at 03:47 AM.
"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

Thanked: 3164So WW243, Hirlau has now joined Sharptonn and Darl (Mercilessly Ridiculed thread) in hastening your departure to B&B!
You must have done something powerfully wrong, if not in this life then in another...
Regards,
Neil

Thanked: 10Use the tacky stuff that bank tellers use for their fingertips. Or put a piece of electrical tape on the shank on either side. Me, I roll the razor in my fingers when I flip it, so it repositions twice each lap anyhow.
