You could pull the hinge pin out of that one, use a round file and cut a path way down about 1/4 or 3/8 inch, put the swivel of your snap hook in the cut, replace the hinge pin and you are back in business with out the tie. That'd look pretty nice, especially so if you found a brass scissor hook.

i didn't think of that. the strop started out with just the tie, the swivel clip came later. the other strop uses a piece of plastic tube from a pen at both ends, sewn into the material as a stiffener, i then threaded a piece of para cord through.
