He orders the 660 length that you need. Just email Aoki.

    I received my strop today.
I don't want to hang it until I receive the case . I use those yankee candles and im thinking the wax will infect my strop
The linen part is drying after I soaked it in warm water with fabric softener .
I was thinking of removing the suede and replacing it with the linen part.
Is there any use for the suede?
I think I will use either the linen or the suede but not both.

It's been said that the purpose of the suede is to "polish" or refine the edge before taking it to the cordovan.
!! Enjoy the exquisite taste sharpening sharpening taste exquisite smooth. Please taste the taste enough to ride cutlery.

The suede is a real treat on the 90K. I have used it before and after the finished side of the cordovan with good results. A few of my Japanese western style full hollows seem to smooth out very nicely using the suede post cordovan. Neil Miller also makes a sweet strop with his unfinished leather which works very similar to the Kanayama suede. You can also just order an extra strop hanger assembly from Aoki and hang you suede or cloth piece separately. It's hard not to have too many strops. : p

Beautiful strop. Congratulations. I know I've seen the answer to this before, but can't remember where - what's the proper way to hold the end of the strop when stropping, when there is no handle or ring at the end? Just curious. Maybe someday, when I can afford it, I will get one.

Good luck with your so-very-nice strop.

I use this method to hold all my plain end strops regardless of width. This one happens to be a Terminator No 1. I feel comfortable with this hold because it allows me to pull the entire width of the leather helping to maintain the stropping area perfectly flat.
