The classic Lipshaw in photo here is the best stropping system going.

Sadly trying to find one in good working order is not an easy thing. And worst of all, myself and Sharptonn bought so many of these units all the eBayers assume there's a huge demand and the prices skyrocketed.

No judgement here Tom, and as far as your bedside stropping center. Like they always say, "Why stand when you can sit, why sit when you can lay down".

To be honest, I do sit up and actually put my feet on the floor to strop.
Never tried it whilst lying down, though!
