Just a heavy brass hook at a level just below my bent elbow. Gives me a horizontal stroke. Haven't changed the height since I put it in a few years back.
I keep others not in use, or being improved, or coming and going, on the back of the door.

PS. I use a special oil and Pure neetsfoot to slowly renew a strop over a couple months. I use information found on line and in conversation with leather workers.Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.

I would recommend trying out varoius heights before commiting to a hook location, just use a bit of string or similar and tie your strop to things at different heights around the house, or if you have a ladder just use the rungs to get a rough height.
I recently put an eye up in my bathroom to secure my strop to, but that was after a year of tying it to stuff and getting sick of keep having to undo knots whenever i had finished stropping. In my last house i used a hook that was attached to the back door, a good height but quite inconvenient.
My new eye is just below the towel rail in the bathroom so when it isnt in use we can pull a towel over it and you wouldnt even know it was there.Bread and water can so easily become tea and toast

My bathroom has a vertical safety rail my the door way. I have a loop that can be moved up and down on it. To the loop I can attach the strop with a rotating clip. This way I can adjust the strop to ~ a 2ft variance in height while the strop can be removed to a dry location when not used.

Thanked: 498I wire tied a spring clip to the towel rack corner and on the strop side I use a carabiner to clip to the clip when I use it, and when Im done stropping I remove and clip & hang much higher on a wire shelf to keep people (namely me) from peeing on it, being so close to the toilet.
