The only thing that pertains to this is that he may have thought it would be quicker. That makes the reply a third well said and only one third agreeable with.

As far as other replies are concerned, most re-sellers of mass produced articles are pretty clueless about what they are selling, I do agree. But strop making is hardly a mass-market exercise and most makers are also sellers. With SRD we have guys that have extensive knowledge and use the products they sell, so lets not cast them in with others, they are special.

As far as getting answers from third parties, you can only depend on those answers that come from users of the actual product being talked about, as leathers from different tanneries across the states have different qualities, for instance an english bridle from one tannery can he heavy and oily, from another waxy and hard, from another just right. Only the person who buys in the leather knows for sure - that beats any guess from a third party.

None of this is rocket science. Ask yourself this, if you were to buy a new car and had any queries, wouldn't it be sensible to adress those queries before buying the car, and get the advice of at least the dealership if not the manufacturer before asking Joe Bloggs, who might not even have that make of car? If your answer is 'no' then I despair for you...

Which leads on to another oft-quoted intro to a supposedly well-intentioned response to an OPs query that appears very often on this site - "I don't have that (strop/razor/paste/hone), but....". Sheesh. Nothing to say, but a lot of words used saying it.

If you can't see the sense in asking the vendor, then reading this is hardly going to to add any common sense to your way of thinking.

i ask you because i dont want detroy the stuffs, frist of all i like thier stops and paddle, design and quality, i think thier quality and design are one of the best, i was in USA lately and bought 7 strops and many paddle pads of different leather, when i was reading on thier website about , ex: ``Premium IV English Bridle Strop`` you can read, this stropp needs no treatment, but when you read about ``Premium Roo Strop or Latigo Strop`` you see nothing about treatment, then i think, what it means? then i get confuse and thinking, haha, that one NEEDS treatment ( conditioner), and for the second it is good to discuss things, i think thats why this site is made,
i sent mail to Don but i think he hade so much to do and i did not want to distrut them,
OK no treatmen with Neatsfoot Oil on any of them just palm treatment, RIGHT

The only time I use neatsfoot is if I want to increase the draw. A little bit goes a long way and too much does more harm than good. The palm rubbing is all you need unless you want more resistance.

i used Premium leather on Paddle and the natural strop on same razor and i think i got a bettre shave when i used natural strop,
