Hi Guys!

I've gotten a couple of hangers from SRD, and a modular paddle. If they were recommending 'conditioner' I'm sure you would find it on their website. The modular has the usual options for chrom-ox, or diamond spray, but the hangers I just palm rub occasionally. In speaking with Lynn about strops and stropping I don't recall him mentioning conditioner, beyond palm rubbing for the hanging strops.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I wouldn't be putting conditioner on any new strop. Maybe some of the bargain basement ones may need it however no quality strop should.
I have a SRP Horse and it didn't. Just the usual treatment with the palm of your hand.No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

The only treatment I use is a rub with the palm followed by a rub with a razor. They do break in nicely in a month or two. Lynn has strop cleaning advice on here. I think he says he uses a brush then neets foot oil when it needs to be cleaned

Thanked: 3164Always beats me why people don't ask the place they bought the strop from...bit odd isn't it, or is it just me?
I mean, you get people asking this sort of thing (and more) about Tony Miller's strops, Big Daddy Strops, Walkin Horse strops, SRD strops, etc, etc, etc when all these places have contact info and they should know better than others about the materials they use...

Neil

I think that the answer is that our experiences from buying in large stores(Walmart, Target, etc) has taught us that the sales people generally have no idea of the characteristics of the items that they are selling to you. We then just naturally assume that of all vendors. We'd rather trust fellow consumers, sad.

The OP is in a different time zone than SRD, and I get the impression English may not be his first language. I guess he may have figured it would be quicker to benefit from member's experiences than to wait for an answer to an email to the vendor. Just speculating.
