    Default Star Shaving Experiences

Anyone have any experiences with Star Shaving? Particularly, customer service, how fast they ship, how quickly they deal with a problem? Never used them before, but considering it. I searched, but you have no idea how many times the words star and shaving pop up on a razor forum. Impossible to wade through all of that and find what I need.

I have not heard anything bad about them, some of the guys have bought strops from them & have been happy with their purchases.

I have dealt with them on more than one occasion. They are not always quick to answer emails. Orders seem to go through fairly quickly. I think that there is not many staff and when times are busy they are under staffed. Very small business with a fairly high volume. I will likely deal with them again. The have very good strops for the money. I have not bought a lot of different products from them. Replacement strop leather pricing is very good there. That was initially the attraction. I was fairly certain I was not going to be able to use my first strop leather forever.

I bought a bunch of stuff through them early on and every order was very good for the money. I can't compare them to anyone because once I started wanting something more specific, I bought the leather, etc and made it instead of buying it.

Yeh 3 big daddy's have been in my hands all English bridles
My original that I PIF'ed to the son inlaw, my nephews and my replacement leather I got with his to keep me going,
They did all need a bit of breaking in to soften them and remover the excess product they seem to have when first stropping on them
Can't say anything bad a good starter stop but also have only had a brief play with an Illinoise stop and my roo I made

I believe it remains the forum's policy that bad-mouthing vendors is not allowed. On top of that my mother used to tell me the common statement of "if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all."

For those reasons I have nothing to say about honing provided by this vendor.

Bought a strop. No comms at all when they seemed slow to ship. Got the shipping notice after a second email. Having said that, it's a nice strop and I'd order from them again as long as time wasn't a factor.

This was exactly my experience. Twice in fact. I still have both strops and use them.
