Default My new handmade Jon Ashmore from Sheffield strops

The 3" to the left is horse hide with hardwood thumb tensioning blocks for complete feel and control. It is combined with a 5mm leather tanned with trivalent chromic dioxide.(The same as green chromium oxide paste)

The smaller hanging strop is 2" wide horsehide combined with good quality linen

And 2 double sided paddle strops, one with horsehide and the other one with CroX and webbing

I have still not tested the strops since I just unpacked them, but they look and feel great. I will enjoy theese for a very very long time. They may not be artwork but in my eyes they are beautiful and extremely practical.
I look forward trying them out properly.

    How do you like them?

I'm sure others are more cautious than I am but I would worry about the hardwood on a strop....I know I have hit the end caps on my strop a few times...they are leather and more forgiving....but the strops look very nice. I probably use more real estate than I need to when stropping.

    This strop is fantastic.
The 5mm trivalent whitish leather is great and the horsehide side is just outstanding with the tension control hardwood.
The strop is a bit shorter then I am used to, and with the hardwood you won't get sloppy with too large movement, it's like a tight tensioned paddle strop.

The draw is just perfect to my liking. This is the first strop I fell in love with, the rest I just use. It's a simple working beauty

Some pictures of the smaller 2 Inc strop

I really like this smaller strop.
For other people it could be the perfect travel strop but most of my swedish razor are smaller sized, I liked this strop so much that I will use it as a primary and daily for all smaller sized razors

The fabric side looks extremely thick and nice . Do you know what material it is?
