I sent Dr Matt an email a week and a half ago and got no response.
I doubt his free hanging strop will work. No matter how light the pressure, the strop is still wrapping the edge, which is bad.
I may try using it on top of a stone, or plate glass, for support.

Dr. Matt has been a member here for a number of years. He is a well accomplished honer and stone collector of traditional stones and Jnats.

He is an avid student of the science of honing and one of the few that I know of that has had razors and knives honed my many of the masters of the skill and studied their edges, methods and techniques. I don’t know of many of us that have done that, I certainly have not.

He also communicates frequently with many in the knife and honing community who are on the cutting edge of knife honing and the production of nano technology honing products.

He is passionate and meticulous about honing, always looking for anything that will give him the slightest improvement in keenness or comfort. So if he does seem a little excited in his videos, it is because he is. He is not some nut job, like some, ranting endlessly about tape, no-tape or HHT and their abilities to feel and hear nano variances of edges slicing hairs or any of the other minutia of honing, that some get twisted about.

And he is always willing to share his knowledge and findings.

In short, he does know what he is talking about, and used to offer a free honing to any of his critics. I never heard a complaint or that he cannot put a fine edge on a razor. He is one of those guys, like some of us pushing the edged of honing, it is how we improve this hobby.

I have no stake in the sale of any of his products or a patient of his, but we do speak frequently and communicate regarding his latest finding and share honing techniques. Don’t know why he does not post much, though I can guess.

He is a practicing Chiropractic Doctor, I don’t know how you feel about Chiropractors, but I can tell you having been through 2 back surgeries and pretty much tried everything available for mobility and pain reduction in the last 25 years, Chiropractic is the only non-invasive treatment that is capable of near instant pain relief for me, in some cases.

If you are having an issue with something Matt has sold you, contact Matt, I am sure he will make it right. As far as CBN stropping is concerned, it is an abrasive strop, very abrasive, and with any abrasive strop, pressure will roll an edge quickly.

CBN can be stropped on daily and produce a very keen, comfortable edge indefinitely, with proper technique.

A fine edge is what it's all about but his videos seemed a little obsessive about bevel cosmetics to me.
I've been down that road & see it more as a side effect rather than a goal.

I have had a lot of experience with chiropractors over the twenty years I was an ironworker. I have, last time they checked, 1 herniated, and two bulging discs in my lower spine. It is true that chiropractors, using hands on spinal manipulation, alleviated my pain, and kept me going many times when I injured myself.

What I found towards the end of my ironworker career was that it is not a cure, but a band aid of sorts. Reading up on it, and talking to orthopaedic doctors about my particular condition, I confirmed for my self that the main problem I had was weak spinal erectors, poor posture, and a lack of flexibility. When an ortho told me that I was taken aback. (no pun)

I was strong as a bull, and twice as handsome, doing structural steel work for years. It was only after I left that trade and got into the sedentary job of tattooing that I began lifting weights and discovered the ortho doc was absolutely right ....... In my case. YMMV
    Euclid440 and Razorfeld like this.

while walking down that road it is best to avoid following the clothed White Rabbit with a pocket watch.
